REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION DATE: January 23, 2017 ITEM NO.: 4 Department Approval: Administrator Reviewed: Agenda Section: Name Scott Oberaigner Y"-4 Public Works Director/ Title Public Works Supervisor City Engineer's Report Item Description: Approve Rehabilitation of Lift Station #6 (2478 Casco Point Road) and Lift Station #7 (2552 Shadywood Road) 1. Purpose. The purpose of this action item is to gain approval to proceed with Lift/Grinder Station Rehabilitation projects for 2017. 2. Background. The Sewer Department has developed a maintenance plan for the 46 lift/grinder stations that are part of the sewer system. As part of the plan, each station is inspected annually to identify routine maintenance needs. In addition to routine maintenance, the plan also includes the upgrade of two lift stations per year. The lift stations that are upgraded are selected based on a number of factors: age, maintenance records, issues discovered during the annual inspection and the risks associated with the failure of the lift station. 3. Project Scope. Installation of new control panels, two new pumps per station, discharge piping and all electrical work. 4. Cost. The City received 4 quotes listed below. The lowest quote from a qualified contractor was $87,560 from Quality Flow Systems Inc. COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED Consider a motion to accept the quote in the amount of $87,560 from Quality Flow Systems Inc for the upgrade of LS 6 and LS 7.
