Purpose. The purpose of this action item is to gain approval to proceed with installation of a <br />water tank mixer for the north water tower. <br />2. Background. The system is designed to eliminate thermal stratification, keep ice from <br />building up inside the water tower which can cause significant damage, and to help maintain an <br />equal distribution of chlorine within the stored water. <br />3. Project Scope. Installation of a water tower mixer. <br />4. Cost. The City received 2 quotes listed below. The lowest quote from a qualified contractor was <br />$25,000 received from Quality Flow Systems, Inc. <br />Contractor <br />Quote <br />Quality Flow Systems Inc. <br />$ 12,162.00 <br />SEH, Inc <br />$ 25,795.00 <br />5. Funding. This project will be funded through the Water Enterprise Fund. The Capital <br />Improvement Plan (CIP) budgeted $25,000 for the project. <br />COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED <br />Consider a motion to accept the quote in the amount of $12,162.00 from Quality Flow Systems, <br />Inc. for the installation of a water mixer in the north water tower. <br />
