Edwards Agenda Consent Agenda <br />Public Works Director/City Engineer Section: <br />1. Purpose. The purpose of this action item is to gain approval to adjust Maintenance Worker Clint <br />Schumann's compensation. <br />2. Background. The City of Orono hired Mr. Clint Schumann as a Maintenance Worker in September <br />of 2015. Since his hire Clint has completed both the Water and Sanitary Licensing requirements which <br />are key milestones for an Orono Maintenance Worker. hi addition, he has proven himself as a motivated, <br />quick leaming employee as well as a highly competent equipment operator. <br />3. Requested Adjustment. Due to Clint's water and sewer licensure his wages should be <br />adjusted to Grade 7/ Step 3 ($24.94/ hour). Achievement of utility licensure is a key indicator of <br />an employees increased value to the department and City. <br />4. Staff Recommendation. In light of his value to the department and City, I strongly <br />recommend his wages be adjusted accordingly to Grade7/ Step 3. <br />COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED <br />Motion to adjust Mr. Clint Schuman's wages to Grade 7/ Step 3 effective June 18'h 2017. <br />Prepared By: <br />Reviewed By: A - <br />Approved By: MR <br />
