AGENDAITEM <br />Item No.: 8 Date: April 10, 2017 <br />Item Description: Acceptance of Saga Hills Park Iraprovernent Project Quote <br />Presenter: Adam T. Edwards Agenda Public Works Director/ <br />Public Work Director/City Engineer Section: City Engineer's Report <br />1. Purpose. The purpose of this item is to gain Council Approval to accept a quote to complete the Saga <br />Hills Improvement project. <br />2. Background. The Park Commission identified Saga Hills as a focus park for 2016 and 2017. After <br />engagements with the local residents and historical research the Saga Hills subcommittee recommended a <br />set of improvements for the park. (See Exhibit B for background presentation) At the March 3rd, 2017 <br />meeting the Park Commission voted 7-0 to forward the project to the City Council for approval. At the <br />March 13' City Council meeting the council approved the project and solicitation of quotes for the <br />project. <br />3. Project Scope The scope of work for the contracted portion of the improvement project includes <br />clearing trees from & planting 4.5 acres of the hilltop area with native plants grasses. <br />4. Cost. The table below is a summary of the quotes received. Funding. This project would be funded through the Park Fund. The project estimate for these <br />contracted services was $26,250. The Park Fund Balance is projected to be $808,863 at the end of 2017. <br />Staff Recommendation. Staff recommends acceptance of the lowest responsible quotation of <br />$19,597.50 received from Minnesota Native Landscapes, Ostego, Minnesota. <br />COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED <br />Motion to accept the quotation from Minnesota Native Landscapes for clearing trees from & planting 4.5 <br />acres of the hilltop area of Saga Hill Park with native plants grasses in the amount of $ 19,597.50. <br />Prepared By: <br />Reviewed By: �c <br />Approved By: D5R <br />
