ORONO POLICE DEPARTMENT <br />"Dedicated to fairness, service, pride and quality" <br />POLICY: <br />EFFECTIVE DATE: May 30, 2018 <br />REVIEW DATE: <br />APPROVED BY: <br />Title: Community Service Officer - Part Time (Seasonal) Position Description <br />Accountable to Deputy Chief/ Chief of Police <br />Distribution: Sworn and Non -Sworn Personnel <br />4006.01 Primary Objective of Position <br />Provide support services for the Police Department in a manner consistent with the <br />mission and goals of the Orono Police Department. <br />4006.02 Essential Duties and Responsibilities <br />1. Apply Orono's community -oriented policing philosophy in the course of <br />regular duties. <br />2. Responsible for enforcing park regulations at Dog Park. <br />3. Monitor Orono brush drop off site <br />4. Monitor and take appropriate action related to parking concerns at or near <br />marinas and public boat launches. <br />5. Must be available most weekends from Memorial Day through Labor Day. <br />6. Responsible for animal complaints including: citation, capture, detention, <br />disposal or transportation to designated veterinary shelter <br />7. Assist with care and maintenance of all Police Department equipment. <br />8. Write clear and complete police reports in accordance with department policy. <br />9. Assist other city departments as needed. <br />
