shall be reported as absent without leave, and shall be subject to disciplinary action, including <br />discharge. <br />Employees are expected to be at their work areas at the start of their work day, and <br />promptly return to their work areas at the conclusion of their lunch break. <br />Supervisory, administrative, and management employees are expected to be on duty at <br />the beginning of their scheduled work day and to report their location when they are out of their <br />office to the department receptionist by giving the time they expect to return to the office and the <br />destination of their travel. Department heads and supervisors must submit a time report to the <br />City Administrator for approval. <br />Pay Period <br />The regular payday for all City employees is on alternating Wednesdays. The payroll is <br />calculated for the two-week period through the Sunday prior to the Friday payday. <br />Time slips must be completed and submitted to the employee's department time keeper <br />by 12:00 noon Monday for the work week just ended. The employee's paycheck will be <br />withheld until the time sheet is delivered to the City's finance department. <br />When a payday falls on an official holiday, employees will receive their checks the <br />preceding work day. <br />Direct Deposit. You can have your paycheck automatically deposited in your checking <br />or savings account on payday. Direct deposit authorization forms are available from the City <br />Administrator's office. <br />Overtime Payment <br />Exempt employees under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), as designated by the City <br />Council, are not eligible for overtime compensation. <br />Overtime work performed by nonexempt employees will be compensated at one and one- <br />half (1-1/2) times the regular rate of pay for all approved overtime in excess of forty (40) hours <br />in any regular workweek. Vacation, sick leave and paid holidays are counted toward "hours <br />worked." <br />Supervisors are responsible to schedule work so as to minimize overtime payment. When <br />authorized by the appropriate department head or designee, overtime payment will be made. <br />Regular full-time nonexempt employees called out for special duty on a regularly <br />scheduled holiday will be compensated at one and one-half (1-1/2) times their regular hourly rate <br />of pay in addition to their holiday pay. <br />26 <br />142286x12 <br />
