Motion passed. <br />( #19 *)PROPOSED LEGISLATION HENNEPIN PARRS BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />RESOLUTION #2945 <br />Councilmember Butler added this item to the Consent Agenda. <br />It was move=d by Butler, seconded by Goetten, to adopt <br />Resolution #2945, expressing its desire to have the Legislature <br />make Hennepin County Parks Board and all- elected board. Motion., <br />Ayes -5, Nays -0. Motion passed. <br />( #20)POSITION RECLASSIFICATION <br />ASSISTANT FINANCE DIRECTOR <br />GOLF COURSE SUPERVISOR <br />This item w•as removed from the Consent Agenda by <br />Councilmember Goetten. She stated that she had removed this item <br />because she was not familiar with the duties of the Golf Course <br />Supervisor. <br />Gerhardson stated that he had documentation showing the <br />hours worked by the Golf Course Supervisor. He said, "The main <br />duties of the Golf Course Supervisor are: I Maintaining the <br />course; operating the club house, scheduling leagues, monitoring <br />the operation and balancing the finances on a daily basis.. Ti-iose <br />activities occur while the course remains open from the beginning <br />of April to the end of October. During the off - season, from <br />October 31 to April: The watering system is drained, the greens <br />receive a chemical treatment to prevent snow mold, at times hay <br />is placed on the greens and they are fenced off to prohibit snow <br />mobiles, equipment maintenance and repairs are prnrformed. and <br />equipment needs evaluated. Plans and specifications for any new <br />equipment required are prepared. Also, during the period from <br />November to'ilarch, the Golf Course Supervisor takes his vacations <br />because he has no time to do so during the golfing season. In <br />early February he contacts. the golf leagues and begins <br />scheduling. He also contacts previous employees to determine if <br />they would like to continue working, and than .prepares for <br />opening." <br />Goetten asked what changes had occurred to this position <br />that warrant the reclassification. <br />Gerhardson replied, "During the process of the Comparable <br />Worth Study. Ron was not available to participate and I completed <br />the questionnaires for him. Since that time, the questionnaires <br />we::e returned and Ron was not comfortable with the results, He <br />went through the process again. and completed the questionnaires <br />on his own. The questionnaires were returned with the points <br />- 31 - <br />
