REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING HELD MARCH 25, 1991 <br />( #12)HIGHWAY 12 CORRIDOR RECOMMENDATION CONTINUED <br />that could also present a formal., unified position. <br />Goetten stated that she would' like to see that happen, but <br />what the City of Orono had to first determine its position before <br />it could cork with surrounding communities. <br />Mr. Allquist suggested that Orono may wish to include a <br />position on Highway 55 in-the event that route is selected. <br />It was Council's consensus that the recommendation be left <br />as is without any mention of Highway 55. <br />( #13)FACILITIES WORKSHOP <br />Callahan and Jabbour stated that they both would like to see <br />Council reach a decision on site location soon, a;:id suggested <br />that the Aoril 4, 1991, workshop focus on that issue. <br />Jabbour stated that it is important for the City, when <br />-determining a site location, to consider the precedent involved <br />if the City must grant itself any Variances. <br />Goetten stressed the importance of trying to work with other <br />communities, in an attempt to share facility space, especially <br />due to the economic status of the State. <br />It was moved by Callahan, seconded by Jabbour, to establish <br />April 4, 1991 as the meeting for the Facilities Committee. <br />Motion, Ayes -5, Nays -0. Motion passed. <br />( #14)CITY COMMUNICATIONS <br />Bernhardson presented Council with various options for <br />communicating with the residents of the Community. <br />It was moved by Goetten, seconded by Butler, to table this <br />item until April 8, 1991. Motion, Ayes­5, Nays -0. Motion <br />passed. <br />( #15)LMCD COMPREHENSIVE PLAN <br />Bernhardson stated that a meeting is scheduled for March 27, <br />1991, at 7:00 p.m., to review the draft prepared by the City of <br />Wayzata. <br />Jabbour asked how many cities are going to submit a revised <br />version of the plan. <br />Bernhardson stated that to his knowledge. only the City of <br />Wayzata has prepared any revisions, and that they have done so on <br />behalf of the "Group of Eight ". <br />Goetten commented that there seems to be more attention <br />- 29 - <br />
