i <br />v: <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR ORONO COUNCIL MEETING <br />HELD JANUARY 13, 1992 <br />( * #16) CERTIFICATE OF ACHIEVEMENT - FINANCIAL REPORTING <br />It was moved by Callahan, seconded by Butler, that the Council <br />congratulate Finance Director Tom Kuehn and the financial staff <br />for the City's obtaining the G.F.O.A. certificate of Achievement <br />for Excellence in Financial Reporting for the 1990 Comprehensive <br />Annual Finance Report; and acknowledges the valuable assistance <br />provided by the audit staff of Malloy, Karnowski and Company. <br />Ayes 4,-nays 0. <br />( #17) 1992 RECYCLING BID AWARD <br />Moorse explained bids were received for providing curbside <br />recycling services for 1992, however the low bidder, Polka Dot <br />Recycling, has gone out of business:,, He noted there was a rebid, <br />which resulted in E -Z Recycling as the low bidder. <br />It was moved by Jabbour, seconded by Mayor Peterson, to direct <br />staff.to enter into an agreement with E -Z Recyclers of St. Paul <br />to provide curbside recycling service to the City of Orono for an <br />annual cost of $63,180 for 1992. Ayes 4, nays 0. <br />( * #18) TAX FORFEIT PROPERTIES - RESOLUTION #3063 <br />It was moved by Callahan, seconded by Butler, to adopt Resolution <br />#3063 releasing tax forfeit land. for - private sale to adjacent <br />owners. Ayes 4, nays 0. <br />( * #19) JOB EVALUATION UPDATE <br />It was moved by Callahan, seconded by Butler, to approve Orono's <br />participation in the job evaluation project in an attempt to <br />update the FOCUS system and to authorize the payment of $1,600.00 <br />assessment amount. Ayes 4, nays 0. <br />( #20) SCHEDULE COUNCIL WORK SESSION TO DISCUSS 1992 WORK PLAN <br />Mayor Peterson set the work session for the Council to discuss <br />the 1992 work plan as Thursday, January 30, 1992 at 3:00 <br />tentatively. <br />18 <br />
