Eric Larson
July 7,2016
Page 4
According to the recorded precipitation amounts for the project area was experiencing 2.07 inches more
precipitation than the 30 year average for the past twelve months. However, using the NRCS Method the site
was experiencing drier than normal conditions at the time of the July 2016 site visit. According to the National
Weather Service Station in New Hope approximately two inches of rain were received the night before the field
visit.
Field Delineation
The delineation of wetlands within the subject property consisted of a review of published resources and a site
delineation of wetlands per the"three-parameter" (Level 2)methodology set forth in The 1987Manualand the
Regional Supplement to the Corps of Engineers Wetland Delineation Manual:Midwest Region(hereafter, The
Regional Supplement)(U.S.Army Corps of Engineers,Version 2.0,August 2010).
The wetland boundaries were staked with pink"Wetland Boundary"pinflags.Sambatek utilized a Trimble
Geoexplorer 6000 GPS unit to locate the wetland boundaries. The surveyed wetland boundaries are illustrated
on the Wetland Delineation Map figure. Future site plans should include the surveyed wetland boundaries to
ensure that proper measures are taken to avoid, minimize,or mitigate potential wetland impacts.
BASIN CHARACTERISTICS
Four wetlands were identified and staked during the July 6, 2016 site visit.Table 4 and the following paragraphs
provide a summary of the wetland basins identified and delineated by Sambatek.
Table 4.Wetland Type and Size
Wetland Community Approximate Area Approximate :v anaae
Wetland Classification Type within Project Site within Project '
(acres)* (square feet)".
1 PEM1A/C 1/3 Seasonally Flooded 1.25" 54,450 Manage 1
Basin/Shallow Marsh
2 PEM1B 2 Fresh (wet)Meadow 1.94` 84,506 Manage 2
3 PEM1A 1 Seasonally Flooded 0.36 15,682 Manage 2
Basin
4 PEM1A 1 Seasonally Flooded 0.07 3,049 Manage 3
Basin
"represents area within the Project Site
Wetland 1 is classified as a Palustrine (P-)type wetland exhibiting Emergent(-EM-) vegetation and a Temporary
Flooded (-A-)and Seasonally Flooded (-C-) moisture regimes or a Type 1/3 (PEM1A/C)wetland complex.
According to the Hennepin County Soil Survey,Wetland 1 is mapped as Muskego, Blue Earth, and Houghton soils
(L16A),and Glencoe clay loam (L24A). The NWI map identifies Wetland 1 as a Type 3/5 (PEM1C/L2ABH)wetland
complex. The DNR Public Waters Map for Hennepin County identifies Wetland 1 as Long Lake.
• S .
D • . . - a
