Eric Larson
July 7,2016
Page 5
Wetland 1 encompasses approximately 1.25 acres of the Project Site and extends onto the adjacent properties to
the north and south. This wetland appears to be supported by surface water from the surrounding slopes to the
west and north. An unnamed DNR Public Watercourse runs through the north portion of Wetland 1.
Two transects, consisting of two sample locations, were established along the boundary of Wetland 1 where the
topography, dominant vegetation, the soil profile and wetland hydrologic indicators were observed and noted at
each sample location. Data collected from the sample locations are presented in the Field Data Sheets (SP1-1
WET, SP1-1 UP, SP1-2 WET,SP1-2 UP),which are included with this report.
A majority of Wetland 1 exhibits emergent vegetation dominated by Cattail(OBL)and Reed Canary Grass(FACW).
The wetland boundary was placed at the transition from Reed Canary Grass (FACW)to Smooth Brome (FACU),
Kentucky Bluegrass (FAC), Ground Ivy(FACU),and Virginia Creeper(FACU).
Wetland 2 is classified as a Palustrine(P-)type wetland exhibiting Emergent(-EM-) vegetation and a Saturated
(-B-)moisture regime or a Type 2 (PEM1B)wetland.According to the Hennepin County Soil Survey,Wetland 2 is
mapped as Hamel-Glencoe complex (L132A),and Klossner soils(L49A). The NWI map identifies Wetland 2 as a
Type 1 (PEM1A)wetland.The DNR Public Waters Map for Hennepin County does not identify Wetland 2.
Wetland 2 encompasses approximately 1.94 acres of the Project Site and extends onto the adjacent properties to
the north. This wetland appears to be supported by surface water from the surrounding slopes to the south, east,
and west. An unnamed DNR Public Watercourse flows through Wetland 2 and floods the wetland during large
precipitation events.
One transect, consisting of two sample locations, was established along the boundary of Wetland 2 where the
topography, dominant vegetation, the soil profile and wetland hydrologic indicators were observed and noted at
each sample location. Data collected from the sample locations are presented in the Field Data Sheets (SP2-1
WET, SP2-1 UP),which are included with this report.
A majority of Wetland 2 exhibits emergent vegetation dominated by Reed Canary Grass (FACW),which
transitions to Jewelweed (FACW), Green Ash (FACW),and Common Buckthorn (FAC)in wooded areas. The
wetland boundary was placed at the transition from Reed Canary Grass(FACW)to Smooth Brome (FACU),Canada
Goldenrod (FACU), and Ground Ivy(FACU).
Wetland 3 is classified as a Palustrine (P-)type wetland exhibiting Emergent(-EM-)vegetation and a Temporary
Flooded (-A-)moisture regime or a Type 1 (PEM1A)wetland.According to the Hennepin County Soil Survey,
Wetland 3 is mapped as Hamel-Glencoe complex (L132A),and Klossner soils (L49A). The NWI identifies Wetland
3 as a Type 1 (PEM1A)wetland.The DNR Public Waters Map for Hennepin County does not identify Wetland 3.
. • I •• - • •
