' SECTION 16040 <br /> , TRENCHING AND BACKFILLING <br /> , Y.00 GENERAL <br /> A. The Contractor shall perform all excavation, boring, drilling, backfilling, <br /> ' compaction and surface repair to install a complete underground electrical system <br /> as shown on the Drawings and as called for in these Specifications. <br /> ' �� All conduit and direct buried cable shall be installed a minimum of 24" below <br /> finished grade. Trench shall be graded level to provide uniform support for each <br /> section of conduit. Excess excavation below required level shall be backfilled and <br /> , compacted to 98%prior to conduit or direct buried cable installation. <br /> C. All debris and water shall be removed from the trench prior to final installation of <br /> ' conduit or direct buried cable. Properly protect conduit or direct buried cable <br /> until backfilling can be performed. <br /> , D. The Contractor shall backfill all excavations performed for their work. Inspection <br /> of all installations by Local Inspection Authorities shall be completed prior to <br /> ' backfilling. <br /> E. Carefully backfill to a point 6" above conduit or direct buried cable and <br /> ' thoroughly tamp. Complete backfilling in 12" lift and compact to 98%. <br /> F.
