DIVISION 02 Section 2711 Foundation Drainage Systems � <br /> 3.04 PIPE JOINT CONSTRUCTTON AND INSTALLATION � <br /> A.Join and install pipe fittings as indicated and according to the manufacturer and the <br /> following: � <br /> 1. Polyvinyl Chloride(PVC) Pipe and Fittings:Join and install sewer pipe and <br /> fittings with elastomeric seal gaskets according to ASTM D 2321. � <br /> 2. System Piping,Joints: Make joints using system manufacturer's seals and couplings, <br /> except where otherwise specified. , <br /> 3. Join piping made of different materials and dimensions with special coupluigs <br /> made for this application. Use couplings that are compatible with and that fit both <br /> pipe materials and dimensions. � <br /> 3.05 SOIL MATERIAL INSTALLATION <br /> A. As follows: , <br /> 1. Impervious Fill at Footings:Place impervious fill material on subgrade adjacent to <br /> bottom of footing after concrete footings have been cured and forms removed. � <br /> Place and compact impervious fill to dimensions indicated„but not less than 6 <br /> inches(150 mm)deep and 12 inches(300 mm)wide. <br /> 2. Filtering Material: Place supporting. layer of filtering material over compacted � <br /> subgrade where drainage pipe is to be laid to depth indicated or,if not indicated, <br /> to compacted depth of not less than 4 inches(100 mm). � <br /> 3. Drainage Fill:Place fill over drain piping after satisfactory testing and covering <br /> with filtering,material.Cover piping to width of at least 6 inches(150 mm)on <br /> each side and above top of pipe to within 12 inches(300 mm)of finish grade. � <br /> Place fill material in layers not exceeding 3 inches(75 mm)in loose depth,and <br /> compact each layer placed.Place one layer of asphalt-or taz-saturated roofing felt <br /> or synthetic drainage fabric,overlapping edges at least 4 inches(100 mm),over � <br /> drainage fill material. <br /> 4. Fill to grade: Place impervious fill material over compacted drainage fill.Place � <br /> material in loose-depth layers not exceeding 6 inches (150 mm).Thoroughly <br /> compact each layer.Fill to finish elevations and slope away from building. <br /> 3.06 FIELD QUALTTY CONTROL � <br /> A.Testing: Test drain piping with water or visually check piping to ensure free flow before � <br /> backfilling. Remove obstructions, replace damaged components, and repeat test until <br /> results are satisfactory.
