EXECUTION <br /> 3.01 EXAMINATION <br /> ' A. Examine surfaces and areas for suitable conditions where foundation draining systems are <br /> to be installed.Do not proceed until unsatisfactory conditions have been corrected. <br /> � 1. Systems with 4-inch Piping: As follows: <br /> a. Perforated,polyethylene(PVC)pipe and fittings,couplings,and coupled joints. <br /> ! B. Special Pipe-Coupling Applications:Use where required to join piping and no other <br /> appropriate method is specified. <br /> � 3.01 INSTALLATION <br /> A.Piping Installation:Drawing plans and details indicate general location and arrangement of <br /> � foundation drainage system piping. <br /> 1. Install piping,beginning at low points of system,true to grades and alignment <br /> � indicated, with unbroken continuity of invert. Bed piping with full bearing,solidly in <br /> filtering material. Install piping according to manufacturer's written instructions and <br /> other requirements indicated. <br /> � 2. Install piping pitched down in direction of flow,at a minimum slope of 1 percent <br /> (1:100)and with a minimum cover of 36 inches(1000 mm),except where otherwise <br /> � indicated. <br /> 3. Lay open-joint tile spaced as indicated on Drawings or,if not indicated,with 1/4 <br /> inch(6 mm)space between ends.Cover top 2/3 of joint opening with joint screening <br /> � material and tie with corrosion-resistant wire. <br /> , <br /> 4. Provide recesses in excavation bottom to receive bells of pipe bell ends.Lay pipe <br /> � with bells facing upslope and with spigot end entered fully into adjacent bell. <br /> 5. Apply and compact impervious fill material to raise low areas or where <br /> � unsatisfactory bearing soil may occur. <br /> B. Use increasers,reducerss, and couplings made for different sizes or materials of pipes and <br /> fittings being connected. <br /> � C.
