2.2 BITUMINOUS DAMPPROOFING <br /> A. General: Provide products recommended by manufacturer for designated application. <br /> 1. Odor Elimination: For interior and concealed-in-wall uses,provide type of bituminous <br /> dampproofmg material warranted by manufacturer to be substantially odor free after <br /> drying for 24 hours under normal conditions. <br /> B. Cold-Applied,Cut-Back Asphalt Dampproofing: Asphalt and solvent compound mixed to a <br /> smooth,uniform consistency to provide a firm,moisture-resistant,vapor-resistant,elastic coating <br /> recommended by the manufacturer for dampproofing use when applied according to the manufacturer's <br /> instructions. <br /> 1. Trowel Grade: Asphalt roof cement,consisting of an asphalt base with petroleum <br /> solvents and mineral stabilizers,complying with ASTM D 4586,Type I. <br /> 2.3 MISCELLANEOUS MATERIALS <br /> A. Frimer: Asphalt primer complying with ASTM D 41,for asphalt-based dampproofing. <br /> B. Glass Fabric: Woven glass fabric,treated with asphalt,complying with ASTM D 1668,Type I. <br /> C. Protection Course,Roll Roofing Type: Smooth-surfaced roll roofing,complying with <br /> ASTM D 224,Type II. <br /> PART 3-EXECUTION <br /> 3.1 PREPARATION <br /> A. Clean substrate of projections and substances detrimental to work;comply with <br /> recommendations of prime materials manufacturer. <br /> B. Install cant strips and similar accessories as shown and as rec;ommended by prime materials <br /> manufacturer even though not shown. <br /> C. Fill voids,seal joints,and apply bond breakers,if any,as recommended by prime materials <br /> manufacturer,with particular attention at construction joints. <br /> D. Install separate flashings and comer protection stripping,as recommended by prime materials <br /> manufacturer,where indicated to precede application of dampproofing. Comply with details shown and <br /> with manufacturer's recommendations. Pay pazticular attention to requirements at building expansion <br /> joints, if any. <br /> E. Prime substrate as recommended by prime materials manufacturer. <br /> F. Protection of Other Work: Do not a11ow liquid and mastic compounds to enter and clog drains <br /> and conductors. Prevent spillage and migration onto other surfaces of work by masking or otherwise <br /> protecting adjoining work. <br /> 3.2 INSTALLATION,GENERAL <br /> A. Comply with manufacturer's recommendations except where more stringent requirements are <br /> indicated and where Proj�t conditions require extra precautions to ensure satisfactory performance of <br /> work. <br /> B. Application: Apply dampproofing to the following surfaces. <br /> 1.
