Bituminous Cant Strips: Install 2-by-2-inch(50-by-50.mm)cant strip of bituminous grout at base <br /> of vertical dampproofmg where it meets horizontal surface. <br /> F. Apply vertical dampproofmg down walls from finished-slab to top of footing,extend over top of <br /> footing,and down a minimum of 6 inches(150 mm)over outside face of footing. Extend 12 inches(300 <br /> mm)onto intersecting walls and footings. <br /> 3.3 COLD-APPLIED,CUT-BACK ASPHALT DAMPPROOFING <br /> A. Trowel Grade: Trowel apply a coat of mastic asphalt dampproofing onto substrate at a minimum <br /> rate of 7 gal./100 sq.ft.(2.8 L/sq.m),to produce an average,dry-film thickness of 70 mils(1.8 mm)but not <br /> less than 30 mils(0.8 mm)at any point. <br /> 3.4 PROTECTION AND CLEANING <br /> A. Protect exterior, below-grade dampproofing membrane from damage until backfill is completed. <br /> Remove overspray and spilled materials from surfaces not intended to receive dampproofmg. <br /> 3.5 INSTALLATION OF PROTECTION COURSE <br /> A. General: Where indicated, install protection course of type indicated over completed-and-cured <br /> dampproofing treatment. Comply with dampproofing materials manufacturer's recommendations for method <br /> of support or attaching of protection materials.
