MINUTES OF THE <br />ORONO CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />Monday, October 27, 2014 <br />7:00 o’clock p.m. <br />_____________________________________________________________________________________ <br />  <br />  Page 1 of 32  <br />ROLL CALL <br /> <br />The Orono City Council met on the above-mentioned date with the following members present: Mayor <br />Lili Tod McMillan, Council Members Lizz Levang and Aaron Printup. Representing Staff were City <br />Administrator Jessica Loftus, Finance Director Ron Olson, Community Development Director Andrew <br />Mack, Senior Planner Michael Gaffron, City Planner Melanie Curtis, City Attorney Soren Mattick, Public <br />Works Director/City Engineer Adam Edwards, Consulting Engineer David Martini, and Recorder Jackie <br />Young. <br /> <br />Mayor McMillan called the meeting to order at 7:02 p.m., followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF AGENDA <br /> <br />McMillan noted the agenda has been amended with the addition of Item Nos. 19 and 20. <br /> <br /> <br />CONSENT AGENDA <br /> <br />Item Nos. 8, 13, 14, 15, and 18 were added to the Consent Agenda. <br /> <br />Levang moved, Printup seconded, to approve the Consent Agenda as amended. VOTE: Ayes 3, <br />Nays 0. <br /> <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> <br />*2. REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEEETING OF OCTOBER 13, 2014 <br /> <br />Levang moved, Printup seconded, to approve the minutes of the Orono City Council meeting of <br />October 13, 2014, as submitted. VOTE: Ayes 3, Nays 0. <br /> <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARING – 7:00 P.M. <br /> <br />3. CERTIFICATION OF DELINQUENT UTILITIES – RESOLUTION NO. 6454 <br /> <br />Olson stated rather than shutting off someone’s water, the City will notify them of the delinquency by <br />sending out letters, which was done in this case at the end of August. The property owners are told that if <br />the bill remains unpaid, it will be certified by the City Council as an assessment against their property <br />taxes payable in 2015. Olson noted the delinquent property owners still have until November 20 to pay <br />those outstanding charges before it ends up on their taxes. <br /> <br />Mayor McMillan opened the public hearing at 7:07 p.m. <br /> <br />There were no public comments. <br /> <br />Mayor McMillan closed the public hearing at 7:07 p.m.
