CITY OF ORONO ' <br /> Assessment Public Hearing for Minnetonka Bluffs, 7• 30 P.M. <br /> Orono Lane, Tn�st Ferndale Road, County Road #15/ � <br /> Scotch Pine Lane and North Shore Drive, LS-1980-1 & <br /> LS-1980-2 <br /> September 8 , 1980 <br /> The Orono Cour�cil met on the above date with the PUBLIC HEARING <br /> following members present: Mayor Van Nest, Council- Assessments <br /> members Butler, Hannah, Hurr, and Paurus. Also present: <br /> City Administrator Benson, On-Site Septic Systems Manager <br /> Gaffron, Public Works Coordinator Gerhardson, City <br /> Attorney Malkerson, Financial Consultant Bob Ehlers, <br /> City Engineers Cook and Quincey. <br /> Mayor Van Nest announced that now was the time and <br /> place for the public hearing concerning the assess- <br /> ments for Project LS-1980-1 & LS-1980-2 , Minnetonka <br /> Bluffs, Orono Lane , West Ferndale, County Road #15/ <br /> Scotch Pine Lane and North Shore Drive. City Adminis- <br /> trator Benson read the Affidavit of Publication, <br /> Certificate of Mailing of Notice and supporting informa- <br /> tion to all benefited property owners. <br /> Mayor Van Nest explained the procedures to be followed <br /> at this public hearing and asked the citizens to make <br /> comments orally or in writing stating their name, address, <br /> and which area they resided at: Minnetonka Bluffs, Orono <br /> Lane, West Ferndale, North Shore Drive, or the marina area. <br /> Mayor Van Nest reviewed the project commenting that new , <br /> bids will be received this Friday, September 12 , 1980 at <br /> 10 :00 A. M. After the bids are tabulated and reviewed, <br /> this information will be mailed to you explaining what <br /> the costs will be and a questionnaire will be enclosed <br /> requesting your vote on the project. We will then have <br /> another public information meeting the last of September <br /> to review with you the enti're project. This public hearing <br /> tonight is being held to hear your comments and then the <br /> City Council will consider and vote on a resolutiorr� approving <br /> or disapproving the assessment roll. <br /> Mr. Steve Quincey, City Engineer, reviewed with the public <br /> the calendar of events leading to this evenings meeting, <br /> commenting that the City will be receiving bids on <br /> Friday, September 12, 1980 at 10 :00 A. M. attempting to <br /> attract lower costs to construct the sewer project <br /> stating that the total project cost to date is $1,205,000 . <br /> Mayor Van Nest read into the record property owners <br /> who have submitted letters indicating their approval or <br /> disapproval of the project and the petition submitted this <br /> evening requesting installation of sanitary sewers for <br /> their properties. <br />
