CITY OF ORONO ' Assessment Public Hearing for Minnetonka Bluffs, 7• 30 P.M. Orono Lane, Tn�st Ferndale Road, County Road #15/ � Scotch Pine Lane and North Shore Drive, LS-1980-1 & LS-1980-2 September 8 , 1980 The Orono Cour�cil met on the above date with the PUBLIC HEARING following members present: Mayor Van Nest, Council- Assessments members Butler, Hannah, Hurr, and Paurus. Also present: City Administrator Benson, On-Site Septic Systems Manager Gaffron, Public Works Coordinator Gerhardson, City Attorney Malkerson, Financial Consultant Bob Ehlers, City Engineers Cook and Quincey. Mayor Van Nest announced that now was the time and place for the public hearing concerning the assess- ments for Project LS-1980-1 & LS-1980-2 , Minnetonka Bluffs, Orono Lane , West Ferndale, County Road #15/ Scotch Pine Lane and North Shore Drive. City Adminis- trator Benson read the Affidavit of Publication, Certificate of Mailing of Notice and supporting informa- tion to all benefited property owners. Mayor Van Nest explained the procedures to be followed at this public hearing and asked the citizens to make comments orally or in writing stating their name, address, and which area they resided at: Minnetonka Bluffs, Orono Lane, West Ferndale, North Shore Drive, or the marina area. Mayor Van Nest reviewed the project commenting that new , bids will be received this Friday, September 12 , 1980 at 10 :00 A. M. After the bids are tabulated and reviewed, this information will be mailed to you explaining what the costs will be and a questionnaire will be enclosed requesting your vote on the project. We will then have another public information meeting the last of September to review with you the enti're project. This public hearing tonight is being held to hear your comments and then the City Council will consider and vote on a resolutiorr� approving or disapproving the assessment roll. Mr. Steve Quincey, City Engineer, reviewed with the public the calendar of events leading to this evenings meeting, commenting that the City will be receiving bids on Friday, September 12, 1980 at 10 :00 A. M. attempting to attract lower costs to construct the sewer project stating that the total project cost to date is $1,205,000 . Mayor Van Nest read into the record property owners who have submitted letters indicating their approval or disapproval of the project and the petition submitted this evening requesting installation of sanitary sewers for their properties.
