.( r r. <br /> MINUTES OF THE <br /> ORONO PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING <br /> Monday,November 17,2008 <br /> 6:00 o'clock p.m. <br /> ROLL <br /> The Orono Planning Commission met on the above-mentioned date with the following members present: <br /> Chair Ralph Kempf, Commissioners Loren Schoenzeit,Jaye Ann Bennett and Kim Kang,as well as <br /> alternates Michelle Winer and Janice Berg. Representing Staff were Planner Evelyn Turner,Planning and <br /> Zoning Coordinator Melanie Curtis, and Recorder Jackie Young. City Council Representative Jim <br /> White arrived at 6:15 p.m. Commissioner Jon Schwingler arrived at 6:25 p.m. . <br /> Chair Kempf called the meeting to order at 6:02 p.m., followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> Kempf noted Dick Kroeger, Commissioner,recently passed away. Kempf recognized Commissioner . <br /> Kroeger's work on behalf of the City of Orona <br /> CONSENT AGENDA <br /> Chair Kempf opened the public hearing at 6:08 p.m. <br /> There were no public comments regarding Application No. 08-3387. <br /> Chair Kempf closed the public hearing at 6:08 p.m. <br /> Schoenzeit moved,Berg seconded,to approve the Consent Agenda as submitted. VOTE: Ayes 6, <br /> Nays 0. <br /> *1. APPROVAL OF PLANNING COMNIISSION MEETING MINUTES OF OCTOBER 20, <br /> 2008 <br /> Schoenzeit moved,Berg seconded,to approve the minutes of the October 20,2008,Planning <br /> Commission meeting. VOTE: Ayes 6,Nays 0. <br /> NEW BUSINESS <br /> 2. 08-3386 JASIN LARSON,3485 CRYSTAL PLACE,VAItIANCE, 6:10 P.M.—6:37 P.M. <br /> Jasin Larsin,Applicant,was present. <br /> Turner stated the applicant is proposing to construct a detached garage and is requesting a setback <br /> variance to place the garage five feet from the east and north property lines when a 10-feet setback is <br /> required. In addition, the applicant is requesting a hardcover variance to allow 37.89 percent hardcover in <br /> the 500-1000 foot zone when 35 percent is allowed. � <br /> Turner displayed an aerial photo of the property and a survey depicting the proposed garage and the <br /> layout of the properiy. <br /> PAGE 1 <br />
