0 <br />MINUTES OF THE <br />ORONO CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />Monday, April 26, 2004 <br />7:00 o'clock p.m. <br />ROLL <br />The Council met on the above mentioned date with the following members present: Mayor Barbara <br />Peterson; Council members Jim White, Jim Murphy, Lill McMillan, and Bob Sansevere; City <br />Attorney Thomas Barrett; Representing staff were City Administrator Ron Moorse, Planning <br />Director Mike Gaffron, Planners Melanie Curtis and Janice Gundlach, City Engineer Tom Kellogg, <br />Public Service Director Greg Gappa, and Recorder Kristi Anderson. <br />Mayor Peterson called the meeting to order at 7:01 P.M <br />CONSENT AGENDA <br />1. Approve /Amend <br />While item #5 was removed from Consent, items #13, 14, 16, 17, and 19 were added to the <br />Consent Agenda. <br />Murphy moved, White seconded, to approve the Consent Agenda as amended. Vote: Ayes 5, <br />Nays 0. <br />RECOGNITION <br />2. Elizabeth Hawn — Planning Commission — Resolution <br />• 3. Sandra Smith — Planning Commission — Resolution <br />4. Stephanie Zugschwert — Planning Commission — Resolution <br />Mayor Peterson moved, White seconded, to table the three Recognition items #2 -4. VOTE: <br />Ayes 5, Nays 0. <br />FIRE CHIEF'S REPORT <br />Excelsior Fire Chief Mark DuCharme reported that the Navarre Fire Station should be ready for <br />operation by May 1", once the Hennepin County Dispatch has completed the programming for the <br />paging system. He stated that 3-4 more recruits have come forward for scheduled training in July. <br />DuCharme indicated that the next step will be further discussion regarding the utility vehicle, once <br />the financials are in place over the next couple of weeks. <br />Long Lake Fire Administrative Officer Tony Roe added that he had begun talking to several truck <br />suppliers. <br />White asked whether he had seen the Long Lake Fire Department at a fire call in Minnetonka <br />Beach. <br />Roe stated that they had received the call first, and provided mutual aid to Mound who actually <br />covers the area. <br />Moorse complimented the Long Lake Fire Department on a successful pancake breakfast the <br />• previous weekend. <br />PAGE 1 of 12 <br />
