<br /> We have reviewed the proposal to install a 6-inch draintile line north from the existing pond within Old Crystal
<br /> Bay Road Addition; across Lots 1,2 and 3,Block 3; under Countryside Drive West; and across Lots 1, 2 and
<br /> 3,Block 2 to improve the subsurface drainage in this area. Silt fence should be installed at the downstream
<br /> limits prior to commencing with the work. The draintile line must be installed at a minimum grade of 0.6
<br /> percent to prevent siltation within the pipe. Cleanouts should be installed at all angle points in the line, spaced
<br /> no more than 400 feet apart. At least six cleanouts will be needed based on the submitted layout sketch.
<br /> Drainage easements will need to be provided ten feet wide centered on the draintile line across Lots 1 and 2,
<br /> Block 3 and Lots 1 and 2,Block 2. As-built plans should be submitted with the actual draintile line locations
<br /> shown within one month of completing the work.
<br /> Countryside Drive West must be repaired to its original cross-section or to a minimum of geotextile fabric,
<br /> eight inches of Class 5 aggregate base, 100%crushed quarry rock,and 3.5 inches of bituminous mixture(Type
<br /> 4l)whichever is greater. The contractor must talce care to cut the existing geotextile fabric at the center of the
<br /> trench and pull the fabric aside while installing the draintile, and the lay the fabric back over the compacted
<br /> trench. A new piece of fabric shall then be installed over the cut fabric to form a suitable overlapped joint.
<br /> The bituminous must be placed in two lifts. All backfill below the Class 5 aggregate must be granular barrow
<br /> material meeting MnDOT Specification No. 3149. Access along Countryside Drive West must be maintained
<br /> at all times,keeping one lane of traffic open. Traffic control must be installed and maintained in accordance
<br /> with the MMUTCD. The City should be notified for inspechon at least 24 hours prior to removing�i�e sur�ace
<br /> of Countryside Drive West. We would recommend a$10,000 letter of credit be provided to the City to insure
<br /> that the work is done satisfactorily.
