The system consists of 2-1000 gallon septic tanks <br />& 2 trenches 175' long each = 350 lin.ft., 1050sq.ft built in 1983 or a 5 bedroom <br />home. <br />Soil boring #1 found mottled soil (redox features) at 2.5' below the surface & the <br />bottom of the rock in the trench at 2.5' leaving no separation from the bottom of the <br />rock & redox features. Soil boring #2 found mottled soil at 2.5' & the bottom of the <br />rock at 2' leaving a .5' separation. This system does not meet compliance & is <br />classified as non-compliant under Minnesota Chapter 7080 rules. The City of Orono <br />requires the system to be upgraded within 3 years. <br />The tanks are old & will need to be abandoned pumped & filled with soil & a tank <br />abandonment report completed by a licensed contractor. <br />This onsite sewage treatment system is designed for a Type 1 system, Type 1, 5 <br />bedroom home in accordance with the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency chapter <br />7080 & local ordinances. <br />The soils on this site are a clay loam. The seasonally saturated soil, mottled soil <br />(redox features) were present at a depth of 22" to 30". A pressurized mound system <br />will be installed. The bottom of the treatment area must be located at least 3' above <br />mottled soil. <br />A pumping chamber will need to be installed to lift the effluent to the treatment area. <br />The power supply & switches must be located outside the manhole & pumping <br />chamber in a weather proof enclosure. A warning device must be installed with a <br />light & sound device, this is in case of a pump failure. <br />
