MINUTES FROM COUNCIL WORK SESSION <br /> SEPTEMBER 23, 2008 <br /> ROLL <br /> Members present: Mayar Jim White; Council Members Cynthia Bremer, Lili McMillan and Jim Murphy <br /> Members absent: Council Member Dave Rahn <br /> Representing staff: Finance Director Ron Olson,Assistant City Administrator for Long-Term Strategy Mike <br /> Gaffron, Public Works Supervisors Don DeBaere and Scott Oberaigner and City Clerk Lin Vee <br /> Stonebay Infrastructure Completion: Accept Quote on Boulevard Tree Replacement <br /> Council discussed the following quotes that were received for replacement of dead boulevard <br /> trees along Kelley Parkway and Willow Drive, plus 3 miscellaneous trees in the commons areas. <br /> Contractor Total Quote <br /> Maplecrest $25,187.00 <br /> Peter poran Lawn & Landscaping $14,291.00 <br /> Norling's Lake Minnetonka Landscapes $15,167.21 <br /> Although the lowest quote was received from Peter poran Lawn& Landscaping, Council agreed <br /> to accept the quote from Norling's Lake Minnetonka Landscapes. The City has previous <br /> experience working with Norling's but not with Doran. Based on the past experience and <br /> performance of Norling's with other city projects, Council has confidence that Norling's is a <br /> qualified bidder who will be able to complete the work at an acceptable price. <br /> McMillan moved, Bremer seconded, to accept the quote of Norling's Lake Minnetonka <br /> Landscapes, Inc. in the amount of$15,167.21 for tree replacement work at Stonebay, to be <br /> funded from the Stonebay Letter of Credit proceeds, and authorize the work to be commenced. <br /> Vote: 4 ayes, 0 nays. <br /> Steve Bohl— Glendale Cove—Request for Pedestrian Crosswalk Striping <br /> Council discussed and approved the request from Steve Bohl to stripe a crosswalk on Willow <br /> Drive from Glendale Cove Lane to Elm Lane. Don DeBaere will work with Steve Bohl to <br /> define the best location for the crosswalk. <br />
