Absent: Lathrop. Also attending <br /> were Mayor Brad Van Nest and Councilman Norman <br /> Paurus. <br /> The minutes of the September 20, 1977 meeting MINUTES APPROVED <br /> were accepted. <br /> The commission welcomed new member Lee Erger. NEW NIEMBER: LEE ERGER <br /> The council will be asked to officially ap- <br /> point Mr. Erger to the commission at its next <br /> meeting. A motion by the coirnnission recom- <br /> mending the appointment of Mr. E�ger was <br /> passed. <br /> Chairman Tomlinson reported on the progress PROGRESS OF PRO JECTS: <br /> of current projects: <br /> 1 . ANTOINE PARK <br /> 1 . Equipment has been ordered for Antoine 2. BEDERWOOD PARK <br /> Park (Fagerness Point) by the city. A motion 3. BIKE TRAII,S <br /> was made and passed approving this purchase. <br /> 2. Scheduled grading in Bederwood Park <br /> can now proceed with the recent delivery of <br /> the city � s new front end loader. <br /> 3. Weather perm.itting, some preliminary <br /> grading for Bike Trails on Willow Drive, <br /> north of Highway 12 will be started this Fall. <br /> Mayor Van Nest suggested that the commission BIKE-HIKE TRAIL MAP TO <br /> draw up a Bike-Hike Trail Map for submission BE DESIGNID <br /> to the Hennepin County Highway Department for <br /> inclusion in their planning as roads for which <br /> the9 are responsible are repaved. <br /> The Sandy Beach issue, on which the corrnnission SANDY BEACH ISSUE <br /> deliberated at its last meeting, will be the <br /> sub ject of a public hearing at a future council <br /> meeting. Chairman Tomlinson will attend that <br /> hearing to support this commission's decision <br /> that the beach should not be closed. <br /> Chairman Tomlinson reported that a d.iscussion IANG LAKE COIINCIL - DAYTON <br /> with a member of the Long Lake Gouncil revealed PROPERTY <br /> that they were not aware of any available prop- <br /> erty next to the Dayton Property on Long Lake, <br /> and that their efforts were going to be directed <br /> toward co ntinued improvement of their current <br /> beach. <br />
