CITY OF ORONO <br /> Regular Meeting of the Orono Park Commission, 8:00 P.M. <br /> February 20, 1974 <br /> The Park Commission met on the above date <br /> with the following members present: Chair- <br /> man P�iastny, Berglund, Oberhauser, Opheim, <br /> Panuska,` and Wysocky. Absent: Hallowell, <br /> Leipold, and Miller. Also present: Council- <br /> man t^�elsh. <br /> The T�tinutes of the Regular i�ieeting of t�ZINUTES <br /> January 15, 1974, were approved as read. <br /> Dick Benson presented a report on the 1973 BUDGET REPORTS <br /> park and recreation budget expenditures <br /> and the 1974 approved budget. It was <br /> requested that Dick provide the Park <br /> Commission with a quarterly report of <br /> expenditures against our working budget. <br /> It was also requested that this report <br /> include encumbrances and commitments not <br /> yet paid. It was..requested tl�at DYck <br /> invite representatives of the Park Commission <br /> to the budget preparation meetings in August 19?4. <br /> Lou Oberhauser will report on the progress PARK STUDY <br /> toward our recommendations for a City Park <br /> study at the March 1974 meeting. <br /> Roland Berglund reported on the discussions STUBB'S BAY PROPERTY <br /> with the owners of the Stubb's Bay property �- <br /> over potential acquisition of the acreage <br /> as park pxoperty. <br /> Opheim moved, Oberhauser seconded, that <br /> Berglund contact the property owners <br /> advising �hem that we could not consider <br /> their counter offer, that we feel our <br /> proposition was fair at the value discussed <br /> in view of the appraisals received and ask <br /> them to reconsider their position. Motion, <br /> Ayes (6) - Nays (0) . <br /> Pat �dysocky reported on the trail improvements HIGHWOOD PATHS <br /> and parking area implementation. <br /> Opheim reported on Daniel's Park. Benson is asked to provide an estimate <br /> of cost for summer imp].ementation. <br /> Opheim will report on Lydiard at the next meeting. LYDIARD REPORT <br />
