�� VILLAGE OF ORONO <br /> Regular P�Ieeting of the Park Commission, 7:3� P.i�. <br /> November 21 , 1972 <br /> Tlie Park Commission met on tlie above date with <br /> the following members present : Chairman Ogland, <br /> Hallolaell, Jarl, �4astny, Opheim, Panuska, and <br /> !�Jysocky, Stanke arrived late. Absent: <br /> Leipold and TUatson. Also present: Village <br /> Administrator Cosby, Councilman-Elect Welsh, <br /> Tom Loucics ancl Paul Fjare of Brauer F� Assoc. <br /> Don Anderson, enviromental specialist. <br /> The I�iinutes of the Regular A�teeting of October 17, A�INUTES <br /> 1972, were read and approved. <br /> A letter to Mr. Fren�h, Superintendent of NORENBERG PROPERTY <br /> Hennepin County Park Reserve, from Jim Ogland <br /> was read requesting consideratian for a swimming <br /> beach in the ilorenberg Property. <br /> Opheim moved, Panuska seconded, tliat tlie letter <br /> be presented to the Council for their approval. <br /> i�Iotion, Ayes (7) - Nays (0) . <br /> Ogland presented the "Proposed Park Land Dedication" PROPOSED PARK LAND <br /> ordinance to replace 39.170, public open space. DEllICATION <br /> Jarl moved, tVysocky seconded, that it be sent <br /> to tIie Planning Commission for their consideration <br /> aiid recommendation and then to the Council and <br /> Brauer � Associates. <br /> A discussion was held. Our recommendation is <br /> intended for the commercial developer. In <br /> paragraph I, the statement "totaling three <br /> acres" is a suggestion only and it was felt <br /> the Planning Commission should study this. <br /> The resi�nation of Asary �Vatson 4uas presented. RESIGNATION <br /> llue to her other commitments , she did not feel <br /> she could continue on tne Park Commission. <br /> The skating rink at Casco Point is progressing SKATING RIi1K - Casco Pt. <br /> nicely. The commission intends the rink to be a <br /> community rink and not a hocky rinl�. It is <br /> recommended that: <br /> l. Tiie Casco Point rink be a community rink <br /> for open skating; hotiaever, the Par:c Commission <br /> reguests the right to post it for "No Hocky" <br /> should tiiis problem arise. <br /> 2. A double illuminator street light be installed. <br /> 3. The hours the rink is open to be posted from <br /> 8 :00 A.i�7. ti 10: 00 P.t�.4. <br /> Panuska moved, Opheim seconded, the above . <br /> re�c�Mi��ndations go to the Council. :��Zotiony <br /> Ayes� ��� = Nays (0) . <br />
