Al � <br /> mernbers were present w i th the except i on of Cou nc i I rnan UJe i sh. <br /> � After the meeting was called to order, the first item of bus- <br /> � iness handed to Terry Schneider of I .D.S. ,was a copy of a <br /> typeHrritten statement� �vhich clarif�ed the agreement that IDS <br /> � would move ahead and investigate the storm water problem and <br /> • work with the City Engineer of Orono to reach the rnost feas- <br /> ible plan. The solution to the storm �vater problem that may <br /> � be created by IDS now clearly rests in the hands ot IDS. <br /> � �t th i s t i�ne, ��M1rs. t�!e I sh presented a I etter from Gary t�Je I sh <br /> to the Council and was read into the record and it concerned <br /> � the City Code of Chapter 35, Section 35.268. <br /> � The Council wenfi further and discussed the IDS proposal by <br /> . the use of Draft #4 and taking each iteri in sequence. It wa s <br /> decided that: <br /> � I . This item was discussed last week, and IDS <br /> � agreed to the conditions stated therein, <br /> 2, /lgain, this item was discussed la st week, <br /> � and IDS agrees with conditions,though some <br /> discussion came about as regard fio whether <br /> � 28w or 29� was the figure fio be used in <br /> . the parking deterrnination. The City Courcil <br /> reviewed the City code as well as other al- <br /> � ternatives fio determine parking area. Sane <br /> of the alternatives that were discussed as <br /> � to ��rhether or not we c�ou 1 d take 150 and d iv- <br /> ide it incto the total gross feasable or wheth- <br /> � er or not we should take 80' of the gross leas- <br /> able and divide that figure by 150. It was <br /> � determined at that time that the term net floor <br /> � area and c�ross leasable area rnean the san�e thing. <br /> � Paurus r��oved, ��lassenga I e seconded, and the vote was Ayes (3), <br /> (�lays ( t ). 'i�lary Butler opposed, moved to accept the Orono code <br /> � ;vhich rec�uires 300 sq, ft. of pa�-king per every 150 gross leas- <br /> able feet. This �vould constitute approximately 553 cars. <br /> � <br /> • To further clarify the above concept, the Council made the fol- <br /> I ot•�i ng rnot i on: E3ut 1 er moved, Sea r I es seconded, a nd the vote <br /> • was flyes (4), Nays (0), moved to include in the flexibility of <br /> parking facilities and its defiermination that an area for 553 <br /> � �arking spaces be cd�.culated but the actual blac ktop area shall <br /> � <br />
