SITE EVALUATION R13PORT
FOR DAVID NITZ
Lot 79 Block 1
FARVIEW
9-4-79
On September 1, 1979 six percolation holes were tested and
3 soil borings taken. The percolation holes were dug to a 42 inch
depth with 6 inch diameter hand and power augers as were the soil
borings to the 4 foot depth. The remaining depth for the soil bor-
ings was dug with a 1 inch diameter hand auger and a 3 inch diame-
ter power auger.
The average percolation rate for the six percolation holes
was 7.2 minutes per inch. Mottled soil existed in soil boring # 3
at 4.5 feet and in soil boring # 2 at the same depth. There was
some alight mottling also in hole two at 2.5 feet in the clay lay-
er which was underlain by a sandy loam layer which extended to the
4.5 fo3t depth were a clay loam and more mottling existed. Because
of the slope of the lot quite an amount of water flows down through
this drainfield area. This water must be diverted by grading above
this drainfield area. It will also be necessary to install an inter
captor drain at least 10 feet upslope from the drainfield area and
5 to 6 feet deep with rock being placed over this drain and some
black dirt and grass cover at the top. This will also help to di-
vert water from the drainfield area. Besides these measures it will
necessary to install a shallow trench system with the drain tile
being installed about a foot deep in the natural soil.
