W. Retighten forms, if necessary, immediately after concrete is placed to eliminate mortar
leaks. Carefully inspect falsework and formwork during and after concrete placement
operations to determine abnormal deflections or signs of possible failure and make
necessary adjustments to produce work of required dimensions.
X. Clean, inspect and repair reusable forms thoroughly,if necessary, before each use. Do not
use "patched" forms for exposed concrete surfaces, except as acceptable to Architect.
Y. Do not displace or damage moisture barrier.
3.3 FIELD QUALITY CONTROL
A. Inspection is subject to compliance with requirements affecting finish results only.
Adequacy of formwork and shores to support necessary vertical and lateral loads and
pressures is sole responsibility of Contractor.
3.4 APPLICATION OF FORM RELEASE AGENT
A. Apply form release agent on formwork in accordance with manufacturer's instructions.
Apply prior to placing reinforcing steel, anchoring devices, and embedded items.
B. Do not apply form release agent where concrete surfaces are scheduled to receive special
finishes or applied coverings which may be affected by agent. Soak contact surfaces of
untreated forms with clean water. Keep surfaces wet prior to placing concrete.
C. Do not apply form release agent where wood graining characteristics are required on
finished concrete surfaces. Leave formwork dry.
3.5 FORM REMOVAL
A. Do not remove forms, shores and bracing until concrete has gained sufficient strength to
carry its own weight, and construction and design loads which are liable to be imposed
upon them. Verify strength of concrete by compressive test results.
B. Remove formwork progressively and in accordance with code requirements so that no
shock loads or unbalanced loads are imposed on structure.
C. Loosen forms carefully. Do not wedge pry bars, hammers,or tools against concrete
surfaces.
D. Store removed forms used for exposed architectural concrete in manner that surfaces to be
in contact with fresh concrete will not be damaged. Do not use marked or scored forms.
E. Remove forms not directly supporting weight of concrete as soon as stripping operations
will not damage concrete.
END OF DOCUMENT
ADDENDUM#1
1607.001 - ORONO ICE ARENA(CP-2) Page 03100 -5
