C. Openings: Design formwork with temporary openings at locations as required for <br /> inspections and to permit removal of extraneous materials before placing concrete. <br /> D. Removal: Design forms for safety in removal and in proper sequence without damage to <br /> concrete. Provide removable side forms for beams and slabs to enable removal without <br /> disturbing bottom forms or shoring beneath them. <br /> E. Camber: Design camber in formwork to compensate for anticipated deflections due to <br /> weight and pressure of fresh concrete and construction loads. <br /> F. Adjustment: Design positive means of adjustment(wedges or jacks)for shores and struts <br /> to correct settlements or facilitate dismantling of formwork. <br /> G. Foundation: Design satisfactory foundations for formwork supported on ground to carry <br /> loads imposed during construction,without appreciable settlement. <br /> H. Joints: Design with minimum number of joints and with joints sufficiently tight to <br /> prevent leakage of grout or cement paste. <br /> 3.2 ERECTION OF REMOVABLE FORMS <br /> A. Verify lines,levels,measurements,elevation and center locations before proceeding with <br /> formwork. <br /> B. Construct forms to conform to sizes, shapes,lines and dimensions of members,true to <br /> line,plumb and level. Provide bracing to insure stability of formwork. <br /> C. Provide for openings,offsets,keyways,recesses,moldings,rustications,reglets,chamfers, <br /> blocking,screeds,bulkheads,anchorages,inserts and other features required. <br /> D. Construct forms of materials selected to obtain required finishes. <br /> E. Provide crush plates or wrecking plates where stripping may damage cast concrete <br /> surfaces. <br /> F. Provide top forms for inclined surfaces where slope is too steep to place concrete with <br /> bottom forms only. <br /> G. Kerf wood inserts used for forming keyways,recesses,and similar features to prevent <br /> swelling and assure ease of removal. <br /> H. Locate temporary openings in forms as inconspicuous as possible,consistent with project <br /> requirements. Brace closures and set tightly to forms to prevent loss of concrete mortar. <br /> I.
