1. Cultivate and till organic topsoil to a minimum depth of 3" until it is uniformly friable. 2. Seeding: Seed planting methodology shall be by see drill that will accurately meter the type of seedds to be planted and keep al seeds uniformly mixed during drilling. The drill shall be equipped with disk furrow appears and packer assembly to compact the soil directly over the seed row. All drill seeding shall be done at a right angle to surface drainage. The ultimate responsibility for successful growth and coverage is solely the Contractor's;extreme for precipitation or temperature do not constitute a basis for any condition of turf establishment less than the described intent. 3.4 MAINTENANCE AND ACCEPTANCE A. Seed: For acceptance,seeded areas shall present a uniform stand of growth. Scattered bare spots,none larger than one sq. ft.,will be accepted,but such bare spots shall not exceed 1% of any defmable area. B. Maintenance of seeded areas shall continue until a healthy stand of growth results. Maintenance shall include,but not be limited to,the following: 1. At areas adjacent to pond,water three times weekly,unless adequate rainfall has occurred within previous three days. 2. Re-seed as required to meet desired and intended results of healthy growth. C. Pond Area Seed: After seeding within the pond perimeter area is complete,the water level shall be established and maintained at a level 12"below design overflow;the intent is to keep the seed bed wet but not flooded during seed germination and initial growth. Once the marsh vegetation is established,the water level can be progressively raised to design overflow level.
