G. Place concrete,strike-off,consolidate and screed and wood float surfaces to a smooth and <br /> uniform finish,free of open texturing and exposed aggregate. Test surfaces for trueness <br /> with a straightedge. Remove surface irregularities and refloat repaired areas to provide a <br /> continuous smooth surface. Work edges of slabs,gutters,back top edge of curb and <br /> formed joints with an edging tool,and round to 1/8"radius,unless otherwise indicated. <br /> Eliminate tool marks on concrete surface. <br /> H. Finishing: Broom or belt finish sidewalks and curbs except for specially finished areas. <br /> After the concrete has been floated it shall be given a coarse transverse scored texture by <br /> drawing a broom or burlap belt across the surface. Slope sidewalks to drain with all water <br /> pockets eliminated.All floated or broomed surfaces shall be finished to an FL 25 <br /> tolerance. <br /> I. If objectionable air holes,honeycombed areas or other surface defects occur,as <br /> determined by the Architect/Engineer;repair defects in accordance with ACI 301,Article <br /> 13.6. <br /> J. Apply curing compound on finished surfaces immediately after placement.Apply in <br /> accordance to manufacturer's recommendations. <br /> K. Cleaning: Sweep and clean concrete surface of all debris;remove all foreign material <br /> from joints and seal as specified. <br /> L. Protection: Protect concrete from all damage prior to final acceptance.Remove concrete <br /> containing excessive cracking,fractures, spilling or other defects and reconstruct entire <br /> section between regularly scheduled joints when directed at no additional cost to the <br /> Owner. <br /> M. Surface Drainage: All concrete surface shall be placed so as to drain and prevent water <br /> from puddling. Conform to slopes shown on plans;where slopes are not shown,slabs <br /> shall have a minimum slope of 1/8 inch/per ft.in the direction of drainage as interpretable <br /> from contours. <br /> 3.3 QUANTITIES <br /> A.
