SECTION 02270 <br /> PRECAST GRAVITY RETAINING WALLS <br /> PART 1 GENERAL <br /> 1.1 SUMMARY <br /> A. Section Includes: <br /> 1. Furnishing and installing concrete modular block retaining wall units to lines and <br /> grades indicated on the construction drawings and as specified herein. <br /> B. Related Sections <br /> 1. Section 02200-Earthwork. <br /> 1.2 QUALITY ASSURANCE <br /> A. Utilize experienced personnel familiar with the products, equipment, methods and <br /> procedures for the job. <br /> B. Contractor shall check the material upon delivery to assure that proper material have been <br /> received. <br /> C. Contractor shall protect material from damage. Any damaged material shall be rejected <br /> and become the property of the contractor. <br /> D. Quality control by testing laboratory. <br /> 1.3 REFERENCE STANDARDS <br /> A. American Society for Testing and Materials-ASTM. <br /> PART 2 PRODUCTS <br /> 2.1 MATERIALS <br /> A. Concrete Units <br /> 1. Concrete wall units shall have a minimum 28 days compressive strength of 2500 psi in <br /> accordance with ASTM C-90. The concrete shall have adequate freeze/thaw <br /> protection with a maximum moisture absorption rate of 6%. Modular units by <br /> Anchor Wall Systems, Keystone and simular products will be considered, subject to <br /> approval by A/E. <br /> 2. Exterior dimensions may vary.
