The maximum particle size shall be 1/2" for plastic pipes or polyethylene <br /> wrapped pipes or coated pipes. The maximum particles may be up to 1" for <br /> Reinforced Concrete Pipe. <br /> C. Initial Backfill: Shall be the same as bedding material. <br /> D. Duct backfill : Shall be the same as bedding material. <br /> • E. Select Trench Backfill shall be: Granular soil(GW, GP, GP-GM, SW, SP OR SP-SM, <br /> SM, SC)with 5%or less passing the 200 sieve. <br /> F. General Trench Backfill shall be: <br /> 1. Soils noted for select trench backfill, bedding and initial backfill materials are <br /> acceptable. <br /> 2. The following soils are also acceptable: <br /> a. Lean clay mineral soils with a liquid limit of 35 or less and a plasticity index of 15 <br /> or less. <br /> G. Geotextile for pipe trench stabilization: Use hErafi Type 500C, or approved equal. <br /> H. Material Availability: <br /> 1. Based on the geotechnical report,the following soil types are anticipated to be on site: <br /> (General trench backfill)remove the brackets. <br /> 2. Based on the geotechnical report, the following soil types are unlikely to be available <br /> on site;therefore,the following materials must be imported: (select trench backfill), <br /> (initial backfill), remove all brackets(stabilization aggregate), (bedding material). <br /> PART 3 EXECUTION <br /> 3.1 LOCATION TOLERANCES <br /> A. The Utility Contractor shall accurately locate all structures per the coordinates given for <br /> the center of the structures. The following tolerances are required: <br /> 1. CB on curb lines: + .25'horizontal. <br /> 2. CB or MH in grass areas: + 1.0'horizontal. <br /> 3.
