J. Exercise care to prevent splashing of forms or reinforcing with concrete above level of <br /> concrete being placed. <br /> K. Clean reinforcement projecting above or out of concrete immediately after completion of <br /> particular unit of pour. <br /> L. Do not place concrete under adverse weather conditions unless adequate protection is <br /> provided. Refer to ACI 301,Article 8.4 for weather restrictions and placing temperatures. <br /> M. Conform to ACI 306 when concreting during cold weather. When heating,do not allow <br /> carbonation to occur. <br /> N. Exercise care during hot weather to keep concrete temperatures and mixing and placing <br /> time to minimum. Dispatch transport trucks to avoid delays and organize work to use <br /> concrete promptly. <br /> O. Conform to ACI 305 when concreting during hot weather including avoidance of alkali <br /> reactions to hardened surface. Maintain maximum concrete temperature of 90 degrees F. <br /> prior to placing. <br /> P. TTL shall monitor vibrations during pile driving or other significant sources of vibration to <br /> determine minimum distance to be maintained from concreting operations to avoid <br /> damage to freshly placed concrete. <br /> Q. Before placing concrete slabs on grade,sprinkle base sufficiently to eliminate suction of <br /> water from concrete but there shall not be any free standing water present. Place moisture <br /> barrier directly on subgrade material prior to placing granular base at interior slabs on <br /> grade. <br /> R. Unless noted or detailed otherwise,sidewalk slabs shall be 4 inch thick. <br /> S. Comply with ACI 301 - 11.7.8 for installation of concrete topping mixtures. <br /> T. Install bonded concrete toppings over precast concrete decks at floors as follows: <br /> 1. Thoroughly clean and dampen top surface of deck to receive topping but there shall <br /> not be any standing water present. <br /> 2. Immediately before topping is placed scrub into surface coat of bonding grout. Do <br /> not allow grout to set or dry before topping is placed. Prepare bonding grout using <br /> mixture of 1 part cement to 1 part fine sand passing No. 30 mesh sieve, mixed to <br /> consistency of thick cream. <br /> 3.
