Lavatories must have an ASSE 1070 mixing valve limiting the hot water temperature to 110 degrees <br /> Fahrenheit or less(see,Section 421.2)and must have self-closing or self-closing metering faucets limiting <br /> flow to 0.26 gallons per use(see Section 403.4). <br /> 8. Water closets in public bathrooms must have open-front seats(see Section 411.2). <br /> 9. All sanitary horizontal drainage pipe must be pitched at'A inch per foot(see Section 708.1). Where site <br /> conditions preclude this slope,pipes 4-inch and larger may be sloped at'A-inch per foot where approved by <br /> the administrative authority prior to installation. <br /> 10. A building's vent pipes must have total cross-sectional area not less than the area of the largest required <br /> building sewer(see Section 904.1). Vent pipes must terminate not less than 12 inches above the roof(see <br /> Section 906.7). <br /> 11. Pipe hangers and supports shall comply with Minnesota Rules,Chapter 4714,Section 313.0,Table 313.1, <br /> and the applicable installation standard. <br /> 12. PVC drain,waste,and vent systems shall comply with Minnesota Rules,Chapter 4714,Table 701.1,Section <br /> 705.7,and Installation Standard 9: <br /> a. Pipe must meet ASTM D1785 or D2665. <br /> b. Fittings must comply with ASTM D2665. <br /> c. PVC solvent weld joints must include ASTM F656 purple primer and ASTM D2564 solvent cement <br /> (see Section 705.7.2). <br /> d. Above-ground horizontal pipes must be supported at each horizontal branch connection. Restraint <br /> fittings or a minimum 24-inch offset using 45-degree fittings should be provided every 30 feet. <br /> Expansion joints installed per the manufacturer's instructions may be installed in vertical runs <br /> exceeding 30 feet. <br /> 13. CPVC water service or water distribution systems must meet Minnesota Rules,Chapter 4714,Section 605.4 <br /> and Table 604.1: <br /> a. Pipes must meet ASTM Standards D2846,F441,or F442. <br /> b. Fittings must meet ASTM Standards D2846,F437,F438,F439,or F1970. <br /> c. Solvent cement must comply with ASTM F493. Solvent cement requiring the use of primer must be <br /> orange. Primer must meet ASTM F656 and be colored. One-step yellow or red solvent cement is <br /> permitted for'''cinch through 2-inch ASTM D2846 pipes only. <br /> d. The installation must comply with IAPMO Installation Standard 20,including provisions for expansion • <br /> and contraction. <br /> 14. The plumbing system shall be tested in accordance with Minnesota Rules,Chapter 4714,Sections 609.4 and <br /> 712.0. The water distribution system shall be disinfected per Minnesota Rules,Chapter 4714,Section <br /> 609.9. <br /> NOTE(S): <br /> 1.
