Orono Schools <br /> STS Project#95723-XA <br /> April 1993 <br /> 2.08 Containment Manhole Slab - The Contractor shall install a reinforced concrete slab around <br /> the containment access manhole (see Item 3.08 in this section and Figure 4A in Appendix <br /> A). The concrete slab shall encompass the containment access manhole (specified in Item <br /> 2.10 below), as shown in Figure 4A, Appendix A. The concrete slab shall be a minimum of <br /> 9 inches in thickness. The concrete shall conform with MnDOT Concrete Mix No. 3A32 <br /> per MnDOT Specification 2461. <br /> 2.09 Containment Chamber - The Contractor shall install the containment for the tank system as <br /> shown on Figure 4A in Appendix A. The containment chamber shall be a single <br /> containment system, as manufactured by "Total Containment, Inc." or by "Enviro Products <br /> Inc.", with a 33 inch diameter containment access cover. The fill, tank level monitor, vent, <br /> supply and return lines all tie into the manway and enter into the tank system through the <br /> containment chamber. The containment system shall be ordered from the manufacturer in <br /> order to meet the specific project piping and monitoring equipment requirements. <br /> 2.10 Containment Access Manhole - The Contractor shall provide and install a 36 inch diameter <br /> access manhole for the containment chamber. The manhole cover shall be water tight. The <br /> manhole ring and cover shall be a Pemco Model 109 spring assisted steel manhole (Part <br /> No. 10936X10WT) or equivalent. <br /> Part 3 - Execution <br /> 3.01 Tank Excavation <br /> A. Excavate the tank site to the required depth and to a level grade. Required depth to be <br /> established at the preconstruction meeting. <br /> B. Remove all debris and disturbed soils from the tank site excavation. <br /> C. Excess material shall be disposed of properly off-site at no additional cost to the Owner. <br /> D. Compact disturbed soils in the excavation base to a minimum of 90% of maximum dry <br /> density as determined by ASTM D-1557.7/3.02 Anchor Installation <br /> ✓✓✓✓// A. Deadman anchors shall be pre-cast or cast-in-place in conformance with the following <br /> specifications. If precast anchors are utilized then shop drawings shall be submitted and <br /> approved by the Engineer prior to installation. <br /> 13215-4 <br />
