Voson Plumbing, Inc.
Sewer and/or Water Service Connection
Plan No. 087547
Page 2
June 12, 2008
3. The submitted site plan shows that the water service pipe crosses a sanitary or storm sewer
service. Where the water service pipe must cross a building sewer, the bottom of the water
service pipe located within ten feet of the point of crossing must be at least 12 inches above the
top of the sewer. When this is not feasible, the sewer pipe must be constructed of one of the
materials listed in Minnesota Rules, part 4715.1710, subpart 2, E. The water service line may
not contain any joints or connections within 10 feet of the crossing.
If the storm sewer is located above the water service at the crossing, then RCP is not an approved
storm material for 10 feet each side of the crossing. This comment is in reference to the
reinforced storm building sewer shown in the lower left of Building No. II, Sheet No. C9. Please
revise the plans to show a code complying system.
4. The proposed 8-inch sanitary sewer is shown with a slope of 0.40 percent of the Building No. II,
Sheet No. C9. The 8-inch building sewer must be installed with a uniform slope of at least
1/16-inch per foot (see Minnesota Rules, part 4715.2400). Please revise the plans to show a code
complying plumbing system.
5. The Utility Plan, Building No. II, Sheet No. C9, shows 233 feet between sanitary sewer
manholes. Cleanouts must be provided at intervals not to exceed 100 feet for sanitary sewers
(see Minnesota Rules, part 4715.1010). Manholes may be placed at intervals not to exceed
200 feet. Please revise the plans to show a code complying plumbing system.
6. The plumbing plans were reviewed for this project and it has been determined that the submitted
fee is incorrect. It appears that no fee is submitted for the storm drainage system which amounts
to $150 (the minimum for the storm system design). Since a check for$300 was submitted with
the plans, it appears that Voson Plumbing will need to submit an additional $150.
NOTE(S):
1. The Minnesota Plumbing Code is available on our website at:
www.doli.state.mn.us/plumbing.html
Please submit the requested information promptly so we may complete our plan review. No
construction related to the above-referenced plans shall begin until approval is provided by
our office. When submitting additional information, please refer to Plan No. 087547.
