MEMORANDUM <br />TO: ORONO CITY COUNCIL <br />FROM: JESSICA LOFTUS, CITY ADMINISTRATOR <br />SUBJECT: INTERSECTION IMPROVEMENT GRANT FOR COUNTY ROAD 15/19 <br />DATE: JANUARY 25, 2016 <br />Hennepin County has applied for the "Highway Safety Improvement Program" to <br />fund improvements at CSAH 15 (Shoreline Drive) and CSAH 19 (Shadywood <br />Road) including replacement of the existing traffic signal, improving the intersection <br />and implementation of signal retiming/coordination. They have received notice the <br />grant was approved for 2019. The attached exhibit shows the proposed <br />improvements. Hennepin County Transportation Engineer Bob Byers will attend the <br />meeting to discuss this project. He will also be soliciting City Council input on <br />interim tests to help resolve the right turn/access conflicts near the grocery store and <br />Kelly Avenue. <br />
