H. Install 1" thick extruded polystyrene over underground building drain piping not under building. Width of <br /> insulation shall extend minimum of 12"beyond each side of pipe. Install directly over,and centered on pipe center <br /> line. <br /> 3.05 INSTALLATION OF PIPING SPECIALTIES <br /> A. Install expansion joints on vertical risers, at connections to roof drains within 3 feet of riser, as indicated, and as <br /> required by plumbing code. <br /> B. Above Ground Cleanouts: Install in above ground piping and building drain piping as indicated,and: <br /> 1. as required by the plumbing code; <br /> 2. at each change in direction of piping greater than 45 degrees; <br /> 3* at minimum intervals of 50'for piping 4"and smaller and 100'for larger piping; <br /> 4. at base of each vertical stack. <br /> C. Cleanout Types: Install floor and wall cleanout covers for concealed piping, types as indicated. Provide floor <br /> cleanouts with features described below, suitable for use in the following special applications to match floor <br /> finishes;refer to schedule on Architects Drawings for room finish: <br /> 1. Carpeted floors: Round top with stainless steel carpet marker and vandal proof exposed screw. <br /> 2. Other fmished areas: Satin polished round top with vandal proof screws. <br /> 3. Unfinished areas: Heavy duty,round cast-iron top with standard mill finish <br /> 3.06 CONNECTIONS <br /> A. Piping Runouts: Provide drainage piping runouts to roof drains of sizes indicated; but in no case smaller than <br /> required by the Minnesota Plumbing Code. <br /> B. Locate piping runouts as close as possible to bottom of roof structure. <br /> 3.07 FIELD QUALITY CONTROL <br /> A. Inspections: <br /> 1. Do not enclose, cover,or put into operation drainage piping system until it has been inspected and approved <br /> by the authority having jurisdiction. <br /> 2. During the progress of the installation,notify the plumbing official having jurisdiction, at least 24 hours prior <br /> to the time such inspection must be made. Perform tests specified below in the presence of the plumbing <br /> official. <br /> a. Rough-in Inspection: Arrange for inspection of the piping system before concealed or closed-in after <br /> system is roughed-in,and prior to setting fixtures. <br /> b. Final Inspection: Arrange for a final inspection by the plumbing official to observe the tests specified <br /> below and to insure compliance with the requirements of the Minnesota Plumbing Code. <br /> 3. Reinspection: Whenever the piping system or portion thereof, fails to pass the test or inspection, make the <br /> required correction,and arrange for reinspection by the plumbing official. <br /> 4.
