DIVISION 0 <br /> CONDITIONS OF THE CONTRACT <br /> 00800-SUPPLEMENTARY <br /> CONDITIONS <br /> 3.14 Cutting and Patching <br /> 3.14.1 Add to Subparagraph: Cutting and patching shall be kept to an absolute <br /> minimum by careful planning and through providing proper holes, sleeves, <br /> anchors, inserts or other built-ins as Work progresses and then only to the extent <br /> required to properly place, support, hang, anchor or install work and finishes to <br /> like-new condition, to match adjoining work and shall be performed by workers ' <br /> skilled in the particular type of work involved. Where finishes are patched, they <br /> shall be patched to the extent necessary to provide unbroken and unattached <br /> appearance and shall be carried to natural break points as necessary. All <br /> patching is subject to the Architect's acceptance. Unauthorized or careless <br /> cutting will not be permitted. No structural member shall be cut in a manner or <br /> to an extent which will affect the structural effectiveness, unless approved by ' <br /> the Architect. <br /> 3.14.3 Add Subparagraph: Cutting and patching of construction work or excavation <br /> and backfilling in or about building, shall be done under the general supervision <br /> of the Contractor for that phase of the Work being altered, who shall be <br /> responsible to see that patching and backfilling is accomplished by using proper <br /> labor, materials and methods consistent with the requirements for other similar <br /> construction. <br /> 3.19 Equal Opportunity In Employment <br /> 3.19.1 Trade Contractor shall not discriminate against any employee or applicant for , <br /> employment because of sex, creed, color, religion, national origin, marital <br /> status, status with respect to public assistance, disability, age, or sexual <br /> preference. Trade Contractor shall take affirmative action to ensure that , <br /> applicants are employed and that employees are treated during employment with <br /> out regard to the following: employment, upgrading, demotion or transfer, <br /> recruitment, recruitment advertising, layoff or termination, rates of pay or other <br /> form of compensation and. selection. for. training, including apprenticeship. <br /> Trade Contractor shall incorporate these same equal opportunity, <br /> antidiscrimination and affirmative action requirements into all agreements <br /> between Trade Contractor and its Trade Subcontractors. <br /> 3.20 Verification of Field Conditions <br /> 3.20.1 The Trade Contractor shall take field measurements and verify field conditions <br /> with the Contract Documents and final Shop Drawings before commencing any ' <br /> Work.
