City of Orono
January 9,2017
Page 2
• The location of the pillars within 5' of the existing roadway will also impede future
maintenance and repair of the existing roadway and the possibility of widening the
roadway in the future
In addition, from an aesthetic perspective, the current placement of the pillars interferes with the
visual appeal of the neighborhood and previous unobstructed view along the entire length of the
roadway.
As such, and on behalf of the neighborhood as a whole,we respectfully request that the
application for Variance be declined. We are unable to attend the hearing on January 17,2017 to
address these issues in person; we will appreciate the serious consideration of the Planning
Commission of these concerns. If you have any questions and/or there is any additional
information that we can provide, please feel free to contact us at(612) 532-2284.
Thank you for the opportunity to be heard.
Yours truly,
Dennis D.
