H. Dahlmeier Engineering Inc. prepared a letter report regarding storm damage. <br /> Construction documents dated 9-7-98 were provided for reconstruction of the roof. <br /> OBSERVATIONS AND COMMENTS <br /> 1. A special inspection was conducted by John H. Dahlmeier of J. H. Dahlmeier <br /> Engineering Inc. on October 8, 1998, to review construction progress with respect to <br /> structural elements. <br /> 2. The following observations were made: <br /> a. The roof joists have been set over the second floor bedroom areas. <br /> b. Simpson H-I's have been installed with nails missing. <br /> C. The east bearing wall is continuous from floor to joist bearing with no <br /> interruption from the east roof joist. <br /> d. No metal strip has been installed nor needed at east bearing walls because the <br /> condition does not exist as shown. <br /> e. The joist extends about 2 feet beyond the west bearing wall. <br /> f. Some lintels have been set in place. <br /> g. Lintels are two 1-3/4" x 9-1/4" microlams as shown on the documents. <br /> h.
