It appears the applicant is not replacing the retaining walls in kind, but altering the existing wall configuration to
allow for an area to walk down. I was out on the site, but do not recall a retaining wall which angles up between
the two wall locations. I only remember two tiers of walls and not an angled wall as being proposed.
2. The new survey should show proposed grading. It appears there will be additional grading between the walls
which is not being shown.
3. The wall will have an exposed face of 7' which would need to be screened. The applicant should show proposed
planting to screen the wall from the lake.
Jesse Struve, PE
Director of Public Works/City Engineer
City of Orono
(952) 249-4661 - Direct
(952) 249-4616 - Fax
www.ci.orono.mn.us
i
