Recommendations and Cost Estimates — Water System: <br />Recommendations are given below to bring the system up to current technology and to provide <br />enhanced features. The recommendations are based on newer operating installations at many other <br />Minnesota municipalities. These recommendations are also based on hardware and software products <br />that have proven to be reliable at other installations, and have significant market share. Products with <br />large market share have more "momentum" and lower chance of obsolescence, resulting in a longer <br />project life -cycle. <br />The following recommendations are also intended to meet the City's goal of budgeting for a multi-year <br />project. The recommendations are given in order of importance. <br />Recommended Proiect No. 1— UDearade Wellhouse 3 SCADA: <br />Wellhouse 3 has recently received new chemical storage and feed equipment, and is receiving <br />new submersible Well 4. This site may also receive a new generator and transfer switch in the <br />future. The existing SCADA panel at Wellhouse 3 is obsolete and cannot be expanded to include <br />control and monitoring of the new chemical feed equipment or well 4. <br />A new, larger PLC -based panel is recommended. An Allen-Bradley (Rockwell Automation) <br />"CompactLogix" PLC is the current product recommendation.
