FIELD REVIEW
Field Review
Wetland 1: Wetland 1 is a Type 1/3, PEM1/F01/A/C floodplain forest/shallow marsh. The wetland extends
off-site to the north and west, the on-site portion is approximately 0.56 acres in size. The wetland is
primarily vegetated with hybrid cattail (Typha x glauca), common buckthorn (Rhamnus cathartica) and
orange jewelweed(Impatiens capensis). The underlying soils are mapped as Muskego muck, a hydric soil.
The investigated soil profile met the loamy mucky mineral (F1) hydric soil indicators. Hydrology indicators
observed include high water table (A2), saturation (A3), geomorphic position (D2), and the FAC-Neutral
Test(D5).
The upland buffer surrounding the wetland consists of common buckthorn (Rhamnus cathartica) and
American elm (U/mus americana). Gentle slopes form the transition into the wetland.
WETLAND INVESTIGATION 6
2625 NORTH SHORE DRIVE
ORONO,MINNESOTA
SEPTEMBER 2015
