' SECTION 15020 <br /> DEMOLITION <br /> � 1.00 GENERAL <br /> � A. Remove all piping, ductwork and mechanical equipment as shown. All miscellaneous <br /> piping and accessories associated with equipment being removed, but not specifically <br /> noted on the drawings, shall also be removed. Contractor shall carefully remove all <br /> equipment scheduled for reinstallation. <br /> � B. Equipment and materials being removed shall remain the property of the Owner. The <br /> Owner shall indicate which items, if any, are to be retained. Items to be salvaged and <br /> � retained shall be removed, salvaged, cleaned and placed in a storage area designated by <br /> the Owner. All other material and equipment not wanted by the Owner shall be <br /> removed from the site and properly disposed of. <br /> � C. Where existing walls, floors or other portions of the building require patching or repair <br /> after removal of inechanical material or equipment, the work shall be the responsibiliry <br /> of the General Contractor. This contractor shall be responsible for notifying and <br /> � coordinating with the General Contractor for all such work. <br /> D. Accomplish all demolition using only mechanics skilled in the trade. If necessary, <br /> � subcontract the work to meet this standard. If subcontracting is required, schedule the <br /> work to avoid delays or interruptions. <br /> � E. Schedule the work in cooperation with the Owner's representatives to avoid disturbance <br /> or interruptions of the Owner's services and functions. Provide off-hours work or <br /> phasing of the project to meet this requirement. <br /> � F. In azeas of removal, demolition, cutting, rigging or similar work, contractor shall <br /> exercise extreme care to avoid damage and preserve the integriry of the structure and the <br /> safety of personnel. <br /> � G. Provide all required temporary bracing, shoring, and support protective coverings and <br /> enclosures to prevent damage to existing facilities or danger to existing property or <br /> personnel during the work. Protect openings in exterior walls and roofs to prevent <br /> � damage from the elements or excessive heat loss. Provide dust-proof temporary <br /> enclosures (including above ceilings)to separate areas under demolition or construction <br /> from the remainder of the building. Provide temporary hinged doors on enclosures as <br /> � necessary. Seal temporary and permanent doors between the work area and the rest of <br /> the building with tape or other suitable material during demolition and welding and until <br /> dust has settled. Provide temporary air filters for all air handlers that serve spaces in or <br /> � adjacent to the work area. Provide new, clean filters at the completion of the work. <br /> H.
