� <br /> 32.12 Submersted Check Valve <br /> If a check valve is not incorporated into the submersible pump,the submerged check valve shall � <br /> , be a Lakewood surge valve as manufactured by L.akewood Pipe (Belltlower, CA) or approved <br /> equal. The submerged checic valve shall be of seamless steel consavction and shall be of the � <br /> double disk type with a single ceatxc hinge pin. The valve shall be designed to permit the watex <br /> column to slowly bleed back following pump shutdown. The valve shall be threaded coupling <br /> style lucated at least 6 feet below the ground surface. � <br /> 32.13 Pawer Cable <br /> The Connactor shall fumish er cable in sufficient le to reach from the motor te�minal ' <br /> P� � <br /> connection t�the connecdon box at the top of the well without splicing. The cable shall be sized <br /> for at least 125 perc:ent of motor full laad capacity. The cable shall comply with all applicable ` <br /> sxtions of the Nadonal Electric Code. The cable shall have conducta�s of not less than seven <br /> ('n strands,each conduct�r W be in an insulated water dght jacket,which in turn is enclosed in � <br /> an outer synthetic rubber or plastic jacket that is impervious to oil. <br /> 3.2.14 Surface Plate � <br /> The surface plate(pump base)shall be rigid enough to support the entire weight of the suspended <br /> parts when filled with water. The plate shall provide suitable openings for the powe,r cable,well � <br /> vent,and water-level indicat�. The plate shall provide a suppat for the power cable as required <br /> by the electrical code. The plate shall also support the discharge connecdon furnished in a size <br /> adequate for the mquired flow rate and in a pressure sexies consistent with tt�e surface pressure , <br /> to be delivered by the pump. The discharge line shall be conswcted with the valves and piping <br /> as shown in the Contract Drawings. <br /> 3.2.15 Concrete Slab and Boz Cover � <br /> A 2.S-foot by 4-foot by 4-inch thick slab of concrete will be required around the well. The ' <br /> material components �the concrete shall conform to the requirements as set forth in Secdon <br /> 2461 of the MnDOT Specifications. Tempe,rawre and shrinkage reinfa+cement shall confoan to � <br /> the laoest ASTM Designation A-615.A-616,or A-617, Grade 60. The bars shall be cold bent <br /> m a�ycordance with ACI Standards. <br /> A 28•i�h high by 40-inch long by 18-inch wide box cover will be required for the well. The � <br /> box shall consist of 1/4-inch welded steel plate,painced and primed,and then fastened to the slab <br /> with faa 1R-inch diameter Hilti Kwik bolts,one in each corne,r. Paint type and color shall be � <br /> selecUed by the Ovvner. <br /> 3.3 WORKMANSHIP � <br /> The workmanship for the well consttuction shall meet the r�uirements of the Minnesota Water Well <br /> Construction Code as a minimiun. � <br /> TS-3� t <br /> � <br />
