, <br /> DIVISION 3 <br /> ' WF.LL CONSTRUCTION AND PUMP INSTALLATION <br /> , 3.1 SCOP�OF WORK <br /> The scope of work cov�+ed by this secdon of these Specifications include furnishing all labor,equipment, <br /> � and materials and performing all operations nxessary to construct a producdon well at Ncerenberg <br /> Memorial County Parlc. All work and macerials shall meet the requirements of the Minnesota Water <br /> Well Constr�tion Code as a minimum. The worlc includes, but is not limited to, drilling the well, <br /> � installing the well casing and scran, developing the well to produce the desired discharge capacity, <br /> drawdovm and sand content requirement specified,Performu►8 Pumping tests,and installing the pump, <br /> drop pipe and well head surface plate and all other work specified. <br /> � 3.1.1 Well Locadon <br /> � The general location of the project is given in the scope of work in Division 1. The site location <br /> is shown on Sheet 1 of the Drawings. The well location will be staked by the Owne,r's <br /> � Representative. The Cona�actar shall not move the location without approval of the Owner. <br /> 3.1.2 Well Descriution <br /> ' The well will be completed in the drift to an estimated depth of 145 feet A 6-inch diameter <br /> casing will extend from 1-foot above the surface to an appmximate depth of 135 feet. A 10-foot <br /> ' telescoping scrcen will ezcend from the bottom of the casing to the bottom of the well. <br /> Depths may vary,depending on local geologic condidons. It is the intent of these specifications <br /> � that the well installed at Ncerenberg Park Memorial County Park produce 40 gpm of sand firee <br /> watcr. <br /> � 3.1.3 Anticinated Subsurface C�diaons <br /> The screen depth of the well is based on coarse sand and gravel stated in records of two adjacent <br /> � residential water supply wells. Oveslying the coarse sand and gravel are various clay,sand,and <br /> gravel m'vcda+es extending to the ground surface.The waux table is estimated to be 35 to 45 feet <br /> , below the ground surface. <br /> 3.2 MATERIAI.S <br /> � 3.2.1 Casina <br /> � The casing shall be new 6-inch steel pipe conforming to the latest requirements of the American <br /> Society for Testu►g Materials(AS'Ti�Designation A-53 for Type E(electric resistance welded) <br /> Grade B or higher. At the Contracto�s option equivalent pipe conforming to the latest <br /> � requirements of the American Petroleum Instiwte(APn Designation SL may be used. All pipe <br /> used in any given casing shall be of the same maeerial specification. New steel pipe shall meet <br /> ' TS•3-1 <br /> , <br />
