SYSTEM#6—KITCHEN HOOD CHEMICAL FIRE SUPPRESSION <br /> (LIQUID CHEMICAL—ANSULEX R-102) <br /> A. SEQUENCE OF OPERATION: <br /> A liquid chemicai (Ansulex R-102)fire suppression system is provided at the kitchen exhaust <br /> hoods. The monitored discharge control valve for the liquid fire suppressant will be <br /> closed during testing of all hood. Under normal operations of the systems, the melting of <br /> hood mounted fuse links, allow suppression agent to be discharged through nozzles spaced <br /> to NFPA 17A& 96 standards for the appliances being served. Upon the fusing of 165 degree <br /> hood mounted fuse link or the manual actuation of release station(s)for the kitchen hood <br /> chemical fire suppression systems, the following shall automatically occur: <br /> 1. An alarm shall be annunciated visually at the Fire Control Room and the remote <br /> annunciator panel with activation of visual and audible alarms in the kitchen area only. <br /> 2. An alarm is sent to the Central Monitoring Station. <br /> 3. The respective kitchen hood exhaust fan will remain running, however, the make up air <br /> handling unit MAU-5 will shut down. <br /> 4. Mechanical gas valves serving appliances under the hood will close via a signal from the <br /> Ansul suppression system panet. <br /> 5. The electrical power for all equipment under the hood in alarm will be shunted at the <br /> breaker panels via a signal from the Ansul suppression system panel. <br /> 6. Manual pull station is located at the path of egress from the kitchen area. <br /> B. TEST PROCEDURE: <br /> Observe and record the proper automatic and manual sequence of operation and alarm/reset <br /> conditions for each kitchen exhaust hood. <br /> C. TEST EQUIPMENT REQUIRED: <br /> Test fuse links and heat source required for the testing of all hoods will be provided. <br /> D. TEST REPORT FORMAT: <br /> Record proper operation of Ansul Fire panel and interface to central fire alarm control panel. <br /> E.
